Hot Flash Metals
I have always been interested in Art and design. I have taken a few other artistic paths to get to this metal art phase: printing, painting, hand painting textiles, dying silk, photography. Each of these has given me artistic information.
I have been welding steel and copper for about 9 years. It has been a process like going back to kindergarten and starting all over again.
I have found that I love line design and I also love to be "grungy". The welding of metal art is a process that is both these things for me. I am totally consumed with the steel, welder, band saws, benders and grinders. It is a process where I just get lost for the time I am working; it is my moving meditation time.
I find that my love of simple line designs gets to come out and all those years of looking at pictures and attempting to make good designs just rushes forth. Steel and glass have really taken my interest. I love the simple steel designs that evolve around the color and shape of the glass.
